Seashells in glass jars are now beautifully displayed on the fireplace mantel, in the guest bathroom and in other containers in my bathroom. I purchased several beautiful glass jars from Hobby Lobby. I washed them, and left them on the cabinet. This last week it was time to display the seashells collected from different trips to the beaches over the last few years. The seashells were in baggies with date and place so I would remember where they came. There were several baggies. I started filling each of the containers and labeling them with date and place. I enjoyed each of the baggies of seashells as I placed them in the glass container.
The glass containers displaying the seashells. Next, I decided to place them with the other ones on the fireplace mantel. A bit of rearranging took place. I found a couple of photos of palm trees from Ft. Lauderdale, my all-time favorite photo, and another photo of a coastline. The framed photos enhance the mantel and I am enjoying the view. The seashells are from Hawaii, Costa Rica, Mexico, Jamaica, Ft. Lauderdale, Clearwater, Corpus Christi, N Padre Island, St. Thomas, and the Oregon coast.
This project is finished, I thought, however, I found in a box more baggies of seashells. Oh, boy. I will have to go buy more glass jars. And then I remembered the recycled glass jars in the cabinet. Yay! I found several different sizes to hold the rest of the seashells. A couple of them had sticky residue from the labels, so the Young Living Lemon Essential Oil came out of the cabinet. The Lemon Essential Oil removed the sticky residue. Now the glass jars were clear.
I carefully placed the seashells in the glass containers, and added labels. Then, I found a couple of other beach type decorations and put these in the guest bathroom. The new items accented a picture and shower curtain in beach theme already in the bathroom.
The last thing I found in the same box as the other baggies of seashells, and beach themed decorations was a couple of wood containers. One shows shells from the Oregon Coast and the other from the Florida coast. A couple of the blue letters had come off so they were glued back into place. After they dried, I placed the shells in them and displayed them in my bathroom next to the jacuzzi tub. Now, when I am relaxing I can enjoy the seashells as well as the other shell shaped dishes.
I experienced much joy and satisfaction in creating and displaying the seashells. It is a welcomed rememberance of each of the beaches and places from where the contents of each of the glass containers came. I am grateful for each of the experiences and look forward to many more adventures over the next several years. The beach, the water, and the seashells bring a sense of peace and calm to my life. Thankfulness abounds to the Creator of the Universe, my ABBA, for creating such beautiful and tranquil places to explore and discover. I’m excited for the next one. Until then, I will enjoy the beautiful displays in my home. And I will smile. Glory to the LORD!
