More Sayings and Quotes

This post features more sayings and quotes from some well known people as well as unknown people. I decided to include both of them for the reminder that all sayings and quotes are important. The sayings from the unknown people may be words they spoke or wrote in which the author didn’t realize they were important. Whatever the case, I thought they were important to pass on. Hope they speak to you as they spoke to me.

Famous People Quotes

If you’re going to fail, do it fast – but have a recovery strategy.

We know we are on different paths, For a while we walked together. Growing our own ways, Enriched by knowing the other, We shall walk the paths Of memory forever.

Most people think that a creation just appears in the brain (hence the idea of only visual arts as creative), and then the creator just “makes it up”. This is not so. There is a process (that’s why they call it the creative PROCESS!) of exploration, inspiration, mistakes, misfires, and the like that goes into the finished work.

“When things aren’t adding up in your life, start subtracting.”

Favorite Saying or Quote

So what is your favorite saying or quote? How does it speak to you? How will it make a difference in how you live your life? My hope is one of the sayings will speak to you. One of my favorites from the famous people list is the one on happiness from William Butler Yeats. With all the talk of happiness these days, I like the definition he gives for being happy. “We are happy when we are growing.” I am finding this is true for me which is why it resonates with me. So are you growing? I hope so.

This one from the unknown authors sayings, “When things aren’t adding up in your life, start subtracting”, also resonates with me. I find this to be true of stuff that keeps finding its way into my home as well as how I spend my time. Sometimes I just need to get rid of the extra things that are cluttering my space and also spend a day just resting and relaxing. Removing the clutter helps with experiencing peace and serenity. What things do you need to subtract?
