How do you know if you are stuck in procrastination or just experiencing a season of rest? Does everyday need to be busy with activity and accomplishments? Or is it okay to spend a day or two just researching and reading? I am finding myself in doing just that the last few days. Oh, I have many things to do, and things I would like to do, but I find an article and it links to another, only to find that a couple of hours have passed by.
It is important to be a good steward of our time and not waste time, however, I’m learning that not every moment needs to be doing something important. I can take some time to read and explore and research something that is important to me. Also, recently learning I am an Enneagram 5w4 has allowed me to experience freedom and know this is good for me.
Research: What is a Nutrition Psychiatrist?
Today, I found some new information from a nutrition psychiatrist. What is a nutrition psychiatrist? And how do you become a nutrition psychiatrist? Well, they are a psychiatrist (lots of schooling) that studies nutrition and then uses nutrition to help with mental health and physical issues in their patients. I found it to be very exciting as the nutrition psychiatrist didn’t prescribe medication, but helped the patient change their food and eating habits. For many of her patients, they were able to get off of their medications.
Her quest for helping patients, started with herself after having a few ailments in her 40’s. She changed her foods drastically according to today’s eating habits and it greatly improved her chronic fatigue and other issues. One of the big things she did was to cut out gluten and dairy. And surprisingly, she eats lots of meat, chicken and fish. I want to learn because of my own food allergies, thyroid and pre-diabetes health issues. It is essential to eat foods for fuel for the body, not just to be eating something. So I spent some time looking at her website and other articles she wrote.
Procrastinating or Welcomed Detour?
So with this new found nutritional information, and even though I wanted to do some other things, I was grateful for the detour and following the rabbit trail. You just never know what you will find! I wrote about this in another post, called Seas the Day! Moment Living. Because I engaged in a couple of hours researching a topic I want to know more about, I did get some of the things accomplished later. So if you find yourself stuck in procrastinating, then don’t beat yourself up over it. Maybe there was something else for you to do at the time!
I do want to address this question, “Are you Stuck in Procrastination?” some more at a later time. Am I procrastinating? No, some more research will be taking place over the next few weeks! Stay tuned for Part 2, “Are you Stuck in Procrastination?” Until then, keep moving forward!
Please let me know I am not alone in this by leaving a comment! Thanks and blessings!
